About the event
In the time of social distancing, many of us are spending more time than ever before with those that we live with. Join EYMP as we learn how to communicate effectively, especially in tense, stressful, or uncomfortable situations.
Nonviolent communication is an approach that teaches people to communicate in ways that will prevent conflict or causing physical / emotional harm to others. This session will be led by Agazit Asihel, a social worker and therapist at DC Charter Schools. Agazit will be using her rich professional experience to customize this session for EYMP's mentees.
Due to COVID-19, this group mentoring session will be held virtually over Zoom. RSVP to receive Zoom details. Attendees will need to call into Zoom using a laptop, tablet, or phone with audio and webcam capabilities. To participate in activities on the call, participants should also be prepared with paper, pencils, and any other drawing materials they'd like to use.
Agazit is a school-based therapist in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area, with a background in journalism and clinical social work/therapy. She was raised in the DMV, and enjoys exploring cool places to eat (before being quarantined) and unleashing her creativity with adult coloring books. If you have any questions about emotional wellness, you can reach out to Agazit -- we will share her personal email address with everyone who attends.
